BPS Teaching Fellowship

The BPS Teaching Fellowship is a year-long, practicum-based program that provides sustained coaching to first-year teachers as they complete their CAP portfolio for Initial Licensure. BPSTF is the only district-based DESE-approved program in Massachusetts.

Teachers spend 12 months acquiring knowledge and developing strong instructional practices in actual Boston classrooms, with personalized training and expert coaches to guide them along the way. Candidates are cultivated as they complete their pre-practicum portfolio in our Accelerated Community to Teacher (ACTT) Program

Accelerated Community to Teacher (ACTT) & Bilingual Educators (BE-ACTT) Programs

We believe that the next generation of BPS teachers are in our classrooms or are in the homes and in community organizations in the City of Boston right now. ACTT & BE-ACTT is our provisional licensing pathway for BPS paraprofessionals, substitutes and career-changers who need a no-cost program to earn their provisional licenses. In SY2021-22, we launched our Bilingual Educators pathway in partnership with the MTEL Support Team and the Office of English Learners. Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree for admission.
