BPS Teaching Fellowship (BPSTF)

We equip you with the knowledge and understanding to become a teacher who cultivates genius by creating classroom spaces that are rich with opportunities for students to experience their cultures, backgrounds, heritages, languages, and abilities as sources of knowledge and power.

The BPS Teaching Fellowship is the only free district-based, state-approved educator preparation program in the state of Massachusetts. We are also unique in that our “grow your own” model of teacher preparation works to cultivate paraeducators to become licensed teachers in Moderate Disabilities (KO-12) and English as a Second Language (KO-12).

We offer:

  • Critical love and support

  • Culturally affirming, racially literate and state-approved coursework

  • Intensive and individualized advising and mentoring from doctorate level educators

  • Coaching through the state’s Candidate Assessment Portfolio (CAP) cycle of observations and feedback

  • Support for the state’s required tests for educator licensure (MTELs)
